The environmental matters are focus of the political and economic areas and are at the top of the development agenda of every country in the world. This is the outcome of a rising global concern about the protection of the environment. In last few centuries, the world has witnessed a rapid but uneven economic development.
In University of Sindh Jamshoro, the Center for Environmental Sciences was founded by Professor Ubaidullah Abbasi in the year 2000. This center is providing degrees of Bachelor of Science (B.S.) to train the students to become proficient in natural and physical sciences, as well as to be aware of social and cultural influences upon environmental problems that are our society is facing nowadays.
Mr. Yar Muhammad Khawar was the first and Professor Ubaidullah Abbasi who was also the founder of the Center of Environmental Science was the second director of the Center for Environmental Sciences. Afterwards, Professor Mushtaq Ahmed Balouch and Dr Ghulam Murtaza Mastoi hold the charge of director of this center and now Professor Dr Khalida Faryal Almani is performing her duties, as the fifth director of this center.
Being an interdisciplinary field of knowledge, the scope of the Center for Environmental Sciences (CES) is to provide all the information to the students and to train them very well in this field. Environmental sciences includes programs with multidisciplinary scope in which the graduates will learn to address the challenges of maintenance of environmental integrity for sustainable development in relation to human activities. Environmental Scientists are needed more than ever by industry, government and society as they bring together information from a wide range of subjects to explore some of the most important threats facing the world, such as climate change, pollution, conservation and food security. Environmental Sciences studies is broadly based with its roots in Biology, giving you an understanding of organisms, their environments and their communities, Chemistry, providing an understanding of many natural environmental processes and pollution, and Geology, giving you a background in global processes and land and water resource management, as well as deepening your scientific knowledge.
The teaching faculty comprises Director Professor Dr Khalida Faryal Almani, Lecturer Mahar Amanullah, and Assistant Professor Habibullah Abbasi along with one visiting scholar and five other teaching assistants.
The good atmosphere is provided to the students of CES to study in a good manner, proper labs, wide and well settled classes and seminar, all equipment and apparatus are provided to the students for the practical work.  The center has the strength of 400 students including the students or M.A previous.

Many pass out students from the CES are very well teachers of the general science in different schools, meanwhile, many of the students have got jobs in H.D.A and W.A.S.A, also a very brilliant student from CES, Ali Muhammad Rind after passing out got job in the “Environmental Protection Industry” and gradually became the Assistant Director of the Industry, hence this center is performing a good role in the University of Sindh, Jamshoro and serving the students in a very good manner.

In the University of Sindh Jamshoro, the center of Environmental science came into being in the year 2000. Respected Professor Ubaidullah Abbasi was the founder of the center of Environmental Sciences.

The goal of the center of Environmental Science in the University of Sindh is to provide the Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in environmental studies is to train students to become proficient in the natural and physical sciences, as well as to be aware of social and cultural influences upon environmental problems that are our society is facing nowadays.

Mr. Yar Muhammad Khawar was the first director of the center of Environmental science, after the completion of his tenure, Professor Ubaidullah Abbasi became the second director of the center of Environmental science, and he was also the founder of the Center of Environmental science as well. Professor Mushtaq Ahmed Balouch was the third director of the center of Environmental science; Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Mastoi was the fourth director of the center of Environmental science and after his completion of his tenure Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Mastoi who was serving as the director of CES was sent back to his parent department of Chemistry, and finally Professor Dr. khalida Faryral Almani is the fifth director of the center of Environmental science, basically Dr. khalida Faryal Almani belongs to the Department of Pharmacy from the University of Sindh Jamshoro.
