Process of Roshni

Roshni is a university based trilingual weekly newspaper publishes from laboratory publication of Mass Communication department, university of Sindh . Newspaper publishes news, articles, features, profiles and interviews, all works of the newspaper is done by the students, all practices which workers usually do in any newspaper organization.
The work start from the inspiring lectures, which are delivered by experienced and senior journalist Sohail Sangi, we can say a boss of the newspaper. No doubt, the students who get admission have zero percent experience in journalism in that case lectures direct them and persuade them to do work. In lectures all students learn how prepare newspaper and its essential parts, its factors and news their importance etc.
Editorial board, a team of Roshni editors prepare all material of the newspaper. Editorial board, divided in three sections, Sindhi, Urdu and English. Students are selected by Sohail Sangi in editorial board respectively. The editors edit news, features, articles, interviews and profiles.
As Roshni newspaper is based on university so news reports are collected from different departments and offices of University of Sindh , adjoined universities and different educational and social organizations. Students have the particular beat; they go for beats on beat day, a day for beats. They collect news and hand them over to the coordinator, a student who manages all the works of newspaper, he, then pass to the editors after reading the news, who will do which work is directed by coordinator. As this is a practical work, so it has also marks which would be included in final term, therefore all students participate in this excited work of journalism and chase with time. For every beat, 5 marks would be given, and for every writing piece, 15 numbers would be counted in annual term.
For these new horses in the journalism, as Sohail Sangi named the initial students included in the editorial board, there is an experienced staff is in the print media lab is appointed. Noor Mohammad Samejo, who works as publication officer, Fida Hussain Gaho, photo lab technician, Anjum Ara Laghari, media news lab incharge, Waheed Rahi, sub-editor, and Fareed Jamali, paster and publication officer. They all perform their duties in well manner and professionally direct every student every thing related with newspaper. And then all horses in last become the tigers of professional journalism.
After editing, then Madam Farheen does proof reading and finally Chairperson Person of the department, Madam Rizwana Chang passes it and then the finally it is time to pasting, all editors gather in the lab and Fareed Jamali help the students in pasting and teach each and every thing about pasting and butter/tracing paper is prepared by the students then this butter/tracing paper is moved to Hyderabad for and next day the students wait for the papers. After getting the newspaper, all editors gather and do binding. In last circulation starts, newspapers move to the readers, students and officials, clerks of the university and send it to the different universities of the country by post.
