*AZRI institute of Umerkot and it's
innovations*
A journey of thousands of people who travelled
miles away from their homes just to get the water is proved as a step in the
progress of Thar.
Water has remained an issue for desert Thar
since long, enduring smiles waiting for rain and hopes for monsoon. The
hardships of these people can never be neglected for taking the water out of
the well having depth 150-200 feet by pulling the ropes by using the camel’s
force and then carry it to the homes back. In rainy seasons, these people
leaving their arguing statements behind go for farming to use the rain water,
for harvesting more and more crops. Economy of villagers is quite different
from the luxuries economy of city which depends upon business and industries
but economy of villager’s base on two things one is agriculture and second one
is having domestic animals and trade of it for these both ways water is very
important with out it they can't have enough benefit from it. That’s why when
rain kisses the thirsty land of Thar, As
a result, their struggle brought fruits of smiles on the faces of people out their.
would it not be enough satisfying that an
institute is working For livestock
research on animals and plant science in the area known as the gate-way of Thar,
Umerkot?
An Institute named Arid Zone Research
institute (AZRI) covering 211 acres of land is working on different projects to
promote natural vegetation in Thar region for livestock protection. This
institution is working Under supervision of Pakistan agriculture research
council (PARC) since 2011 and their innovations are enough to prove their
abilities of working on animal health, animal nutrition, animal reproduction,
crop production, plant protection and horticulture The main focus of research
is growth of Plant on sustainable
condition
Recently, drip-irrigation system has been
introduced by this institution in 3 acers of land Thar to reduce the use of
water and to Grow plants only on a
limited amount. By this method, one can easily transmit the required water into
the stems of plants through ammeter.
Their innovation is preparing the gas as a
fuel for domestic use by utilizing the waste of animals. Through the process of
bio-remediation, they convert the waste material into gas For interior farm use.
In annual presentation the chairman of PARC
Mr azeem khan discussed about the achievements of the Institute, Revitalizing
agriculture research in the country their main motive is to revive and promote
agriculture system Which is very much helpful for Import and export and it also
develop our livestock sector. Nursery plant, bio gas plant, solar and wind
energy sources install at Azri farm Umerkot in Umerkot they Introduce the new
method And seed of Johar and Bajra which is For better and than normal average
