Pak Turk Schools and the future of several students

When governments or individuals are bent upon doing every possible negative thing, to expect that they will ever think of doing something good is being unfair to oneself.
The coup in Turkey on 16th July was weird. Weirder still is the reaction that has emanated from Erdogan. He is closing down everything that moves. He is even closing down the schools.
Pak Turk school chain was established in 1995. The chain consists of 28 schools which are teaching 10000 students. 1500 employees are earning butter and bread from the schools. President Erdogan has closed 140 media channels and educational institutes in Turkey. He has shut down many welfare institutes run by Guillen. He has thrown many army men, journalists and students into jail. All this was done to purge Turkey of Guillen influence.
Turkey expects Pakistan to wrap all this up and send the students and employees home. What will Pakistan do? One can only fear.
Turkey thinks that Pak Turk schools are influenced by Fathullah Guillen, a spiritual leader in exile who Turkey thinks was behind the failed coup. Turkey thinks its democracy is in danger due to these schools. Now, what harm can a student of matric class, studying in Jamshoro cause to Turkish democracy? It is like you jail someone who was carrying a Khushwant Singh book and you feared he was an ideologue running the Khalistan Movement. Common sense was never so extinct before.
Pakistan has already its own bag of problems to deal with. Terrorism has snatched Pakistan of its sleep and it is doing everything to uproot it. Schools are one of the decent ways to rid the country of extremism. But, the country is being urged to close down the very schools.
Pak Turk chain has clearly disowned Guillen’s influence. It says even if there has ever been any Guillen influence, it was for the betterment of education. It has no religious or political aim currently. It is saying it has nothing to do with Guillen now and its only task is to provide education, and education alone. If Pak Turk schools are closed, it will not only earn Turkey bad name, it will also cause Pakistan many problems so for as education is concerned.
A Pak Turk official recently said that it was hard to understand as to how an 87-year-old exiled Guillen could cause any trouble for Erdogan.
Who is Guillen? Who should be Erdogan? None of Pak Turk's student is concerned with their business but, the fate is not cordial always, sometime state have to stand and face the situation for the sake of political interests and the pressure of effected country.
It would be embarrassing if the schools are closed. It would be too unfair to play with lives of so many students and employees. Someone should narrate the real story of a Japanese railway station (Kyu Shirataki Station) where the whole train used to pick and drop the one and only student. Imagine a train, commuting just for a single girl. Developed are those who have put in everything for education, and miserable are those who have turned their back to it.

When governments or individuals are bent upon doing every possible negative thing, to expect that they will ever think of doing something good is being unfair to oneself.
The coup in Turkey on 16th July was weird. Weirder still is the reaction that has emanated from Erdogan. He’s closing down everything that moves. He’s even closing down the schools. Really weird.
Let’s leave beating about the bush aside and come to the point. Turkey has asked Pakistan to wrap up PakTurk Schools.
PakTurk school chain was established in 1995. The chain consists of 28 schools which are teaching 10000 students. 1500 employees are earning butter and bread from the schools. President Erdogon has closed 140 media channels and educational institutes in Turkey. He has shut down many welfare institutes run by Gullen. He has thrown many army men, journalists and students into jail. All this was done to purge Turkey of Gullen influence.
Turkey expects Pakistan to wrap all this up and send the students and employees home. What will Pakistan do? One can only fear.
Turkey thinks that PakTurk schools are influenced by Fethullah Gullen, a spiritual leader in exile who Turkey thinks was behind the failed coup. Turkey thinks its democracy is in danger due to these schools. Now what harm can a matric student studying in Jamshoro cause to Turkish democracy? It’s like you jail someone who was carrying a Khushwant Singh book and you feared he was an ideologue running the Khalistan movement. Common sense was never so extinct before.
Pakistan has already its own bag of problems to deal with. Terrorism has snatched Pakistan of its sleep and it’s doing everything to uproot it. Schools are one of the decent ways to rid the country of extremism. Now the country is being urged to close down the very schools.
PakTurk chain has clearly disowned Gullen’s influence. It says even if there has ever been any Gullen influence, it was for the betterment of education. It has no religious or political aim currently. It’s saying it has nothing to do with Gullen now and its only task is to provide education, and education alone. If PakTurk schools are closed, it will not only earn Turkey bad name, it’ll also cause Pakistan many problems so for as education is concerned.
A PakTurk official recently said that it was hard to understand as to how and 87-year-old exiled Gullen could cause any trouble for Erdogon.
Who is gullen? ,who should be erdogoen?non of pakturk'sstudent is concernt with their bussness .but the fate is not cordial always ,sometime state have to stand and face the  situation for the sake of political intrests and the pressure of effected country .

As we travel around the city, we happened to read sign boards of different English medium private schools, opened almost on every corner of streets, and with the passage of time, a big amount of increament has been observed in their quantity.
though, it seems to be a sign of development in the sense of educaton which could be helpful to improve our literacy rate and may serve to prospour our country, but this illusion would perish, if one happens to visit any of the school of this calibre. Any sensible parent who have ever visited those local-street-schools, may tell you a better story.
Over the world, teaching is considered to be a noble profession, but a heart wrenching and bitter truth is that the owners of these local-street-schools have been exploiting the noblity of this profession by demanding higher fees in the name of education while they provide sub-standered education, a senior school teacher revealed that these owners hire un-skilled, uneducated and less qualified teachers  (mostly females, who do not demand big amount of salaries and even work for longer period of time.)
Majority of these teachers have joined this profession just for the sake of  a pinch of money and are often found to be merely FSC passed, metric passed or even less! These teachers along with their Heads are seemed to be busy in ruinning this noble profession and turning it to a business.
An other senior teacher remarked that these bad workmen querrel with their tools and make a mess with syllabous by following cramming methods which destroys the natural abilities of kids. Mostly students from these schools remain spoon-feeders and loose the ability of thinking critically over different aspects and their power of decision making is also affected.These students from local-street-schools fece several difficulties while enter in their professional life.
Last year, on Friday Jan 13, ministr of education Pir Mazhar-Ul-Haq briefed Sindh Assembly that total 10,665 private schools are operating in Sindh, while 1,543 schools out of them are unregistered. List of other registred and un registered schools in few cities of Sindh is given below.

Karachi,     Registered=5,559 Unregisterd=563
Hyderabad, = =            222,  ======== 25
Jamshoro      ===          131    =======  24
Mirpur,      =========431    ======= 65
Sukkar        ======== 307    ====== = 56
Larkana,   ========= 217   ======== 35
Nawabshah, ======= 192     ======== 65

These Local-street, registerd and unregistered schools, have brought our education system on the verge of destruction. If serious actions are not been taken on instant bases, the condition will go worst..!

Interview: Dr Javed Iqbal By: Ahmed Raza

Increasing redundancy repels youth from Urdu: Dr Javed
Interview: Dr Javed Iqbal

Introduction: Mr. Javed Iqbal was born on March 23, 1964 in Latifabad. After his early education, he received Graduation and Masters Degree in Urdu Literature from Government Degree College in 1987. He has been associated with Urdu department since 1987. Quest of education propelled him completing his MPhil in 1995 and doctorate in 2002. Dr Javed was recently promoted as Dean of Arts Faculty which makes him the youngest Dean in UoS history.

Roshni:  Why did you choose teaching as a profession?
Dr Javed: I had always liked this field, when I was young; I enjoyed the company of literate personalities like, Professor Persian Language at UoS, Huzoor Ahmed Saleem, founder of Cosmopolitan School System, Professor Arshad Raza, Prof. Habeeb Arshad, Ateeq Ahmed Jilani, and advocate Mushtaq Ahemd. From there; I got the desire to become like them.
Roshni:  What difficulties you faced during your career?
Dr Javed: As I belong to a lower class family, it was never easy to continue my study having an excessive burden to support family. I therefore worked as a part-time electrician. However, I always carried my books along with my tool box. I often studied hours at night to complete my Masters Degree. My patience was rewarded and I was appointed as lecturer at Urdu Department University of Sindh.

Roshni: Why did you prefer research field over creative work?
Dr Javed: Earlier in my career, I wrote many short poems, ghazliyat, essays and afsaney. But, soon I realized that this field expects a lot of time and attention, unfortunately I was too busy to keep the wheel of my domestic responsibilities moving. I therefore had no option but to switch my field of interest and research work on Urdu Literature was always my second interest after writing. Still, for my catharsis, I seldom write some poems or short stories.
Roshni: How do you compare both fields (writing & Research)?
Dr Javed: One cannot justify both fields by placing one over another. Each has its own importance, its own domain. Writing poetry or prose is an art to convert your feelings and ideas on paper. Research on Urdu literature tells us the quality of today’s and old Urdu Literature by their comparative study.
Roshni: How many research papers have you written?
Dr Javed: I wrote my first monograph during masters, on “Personality and Work of Fazal Ahmed Kareem Fazli.” Further I have written research papers about research-work done earlier on “Ameer Minayi.” Further I have written articles on “Urdu Tabsara Nigari,” “Urdu Taqreer Nigari” and many other topics.
Roshni: How many M.Phil/PhD scholars have you supervised?
Dr Javed: Six PhD and two M.phil Scholars have completed their degree under my supeervision, while, twelve M.phil and PhD scholars are under process.
Roshni: Being a researcher of Urdu literature, how do you see excessive use of slang words in Urdu?
Dr Javed: Earlier, slangs were considered bad and therefore were not included in dictionaries. But, now many slang words are not only accepted but also included in Urdu dictionaries, considering their extensive use in spoken Urdu. However, one should use them before selective gatherings and listeners.
Roshni: What do you think of young generation Urdu poets?
Dr Jawed: I consider them disgrace to Urdu Poetry. This poetry has worse effects on our youth and influences their thoughts. This vulgarity would not last long. However, this generation also has poets like, Amjad Islam Amjad, Mohsin Naqwi, Iftikhar Arif and Jameel-ud-deen Aali.
Roshni: Why do you think is youth disinterested in Urdu Literature?
Dr Javed: Due to increasing redundancy, most of our youth propel towards English language instead, which creates many job opportunities in national and multi-national companies. Parents too, focus on science-subjects rather than their national language.

The writing skill work was carried under supervision of SIr Sohail Sangi, at Department of Mass Communication University of Sindh
